Mária ARADI

She was 7 years old when  was admitted at the State Ballet Institut Budapest. Her balletmasters were Ferenc Nádasi and Olga Lepesinskaya. When she was 17 became member of the Hungarian State Opera Ballet Company. Somewhat later she joined the Ballet Sopianae as leading dancer. As a schoolarship student continued her studies at the Bolshoi Ballet Moscow where her balletmaster was Asaf Messerer. Here she was prepared for the great romantic-classical ballets like Giselle and Swan Lake. After this she rejoined  the Hungarian  
State Opera Ballet as principal dancer, returning frequently to the Bolshoi Ballet as a guest artist. In 1996 she received bronze medal at the Varna Ballet Competition, in 1969 special decoration at the Moscow Ballet Competition. Since 1971 she works in Western Europe, from 1972 leading ballerina  at the Dutch National Ballet Amsterdam where first of all  she danced in the  classical repertory  especially remarkable as Giselle, but unforgotable in the Swan Lake and in La Bayadere. Inimitable as Titania in Sir Frederick Ashton's The Dream, in Harald Lander's Etudes or in David Lichine's Graduation Ball. Along the Balanchine repertory she frequently danced in the special holland dance-works such as Romeo and Julia by Rudi van Dantzig  and in many Hans van Manen and Toer van Schayk ballets.
She was many times Nureyev's partner with whom they danced in USA too. Other remakables dances partner were Paolo Botoluzzi, Patrick Bissel, Frank Augustin, Danilo Radojevic, Imre Dózsa and Gyula Harangozó. Since 1993  Maria  Aradi stoped the acting stage dancing, since than on Senior Balletmistress at the Dutch National Ballet and Honorary Teacher of the Hungarian Dance Academy. She is welcomed guest teacher at many major ballet companies.
